SHOWMASTER HEART GAME (SATURDAY)

A familiar voice can be heard above you, you're not sure if they're talking to you or not but it does feel like you're part of this conversation:

"What a Wonderful Story that you have. I've read it many times when I was feeling sad. You know, I wanted to keep it in my personal collection, but it doesn't seem that's going to be possible. To grant my wish, I'd have to sacrifice what it means to be a reader ... to become the story. That's The End that I'm looking for.

What a pretty lie!

[checking the book titles also, pulling a couple at random to flip through]

[These books contain a lot of information on the AWOKEN.

Their legends name was apparently DREAMER.

They are a family who believes in humanity over all, they do not wish to rely on LEGENDS especially as the rituals become worse and worse.

Every single one of them has a scar because something was inserted into them.

There is a lot of research into the common physical aspects of LEGENDS vs HUMANS, many books dedicated to this actually and especially the immortality.

The titles are plain but simple.

THE AWOKEN

BLESSINGS

IMMORTALITY

EXPERIMENTS OF DREAMS

STORYTELLERS

There are even books on each legend of the families.]

out of very personal curiosity she is gonna see if she can dig out info as to what the ‘something’ inserted under her ribs is in the AWOKEN book]

[brightly]

Oh! Hate that!

[pulls out EXPERIMENTS OF DREAMS to check next]

Re: cw: body parts / body horror / surgery?! something like that should go here probably

[personal profile] ticketmaster 2026-01-18 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
[...the IMMORTALITY is the biggest problem we have. If one was to insert a piece of the DREAM into another human, it quickly tries to return to the host body, forcefully through any exit possible. It is quite clever in finding escape routes and humans do tend to have many orifices in which things can escape through. But even if one was to sew up these openings, it tries to escape through pores, through eye sockets, it will fight its way through flesh to return to the host body. LEGENDS are truly similar to gods...but humans are not tied to such rules...]

It would be interesting to see what would happen to humans who are intertwined with these cells, would they be able to gain the same regeneration abilities and would they break down the same way…?

You know, this feels kinda disloyal to say, but maybe it’s just better they’re all dead ☆

[takes the two books with her under her arm, and sniffs the operating table and the sink in the same investigative way]

Funny…

[she’ll circle back to the bookshelf and see if there are any books that are bloodstained, since it’s the only thing in here so far with a notable smell]

[personal profile] ticketmaster 2026-01-18 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
[There isn't any specific blood bits here, instead it seems to be more like they were put here AFTER the blood event.

Probably.

Maybe.]

[can she move the cabinet out to check if there’s anything behind it? alternatively she could turn into a fox and squirm behind it pretty effectively]

[personal profile] ticketmaster 2026-01-18 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
[There's nothing here.

There's never been anything here. Has there?

Surely there were good memories and bad. But in this time, in this place, there's nothing here.

Even this picture, it doesn't seem real, just another ideal in a family filled with ideals.]

[puffs up in alarm and jumps out from behind the cabinet]

All right, all right already!

[she’ll change back, grab up the two books she took off the shelf again, and check the flowers last]

Re: cw: body parts / body horror / surgery?! something like that should go here probably

[personal profile] ticketmaster 2026-01-18 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[These are flowers you may or may not recognize, based on the specific purple, they seem to be from a family you might have heard of back then.

One that would assist with the Awoken for a while before there was a massacre involved that wiped out the entire family.

Well, maybe the entire family.]

[personal profile] ticketmaster 2026-01-18 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
[Someone get this girl a shopping bag-]

[As you step through the door, a memory probably hits you to some degree. Inside is what looks to be a socializing event, a part of various families just interacting with one another and mingling, talking about whatever it is that higher ups talk about.

But what's interesting is the one family you might recognize.

They wear clean and proper suits, pinstripes in particular, lines, lines, lines, almost like incision marks for many of them. Most all of them have gloves on as well. Glasses, also. No one has their hair loose either. Very uptight, very professional, very clinical.

And perhaps familiar to Miss Dixie.]

"But whatever happened to the DAMNED?"

"We don't need them. We have a DREAM for a better future."

[personal profile] tricksyvixie 2026-01-18 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
[that IS familiar. her ears flatten, with the burst of deja vu. she wore these clothes, once. she walked the walk and talked the talk, once

she’ll sidle up to the talkers]

I happen to notice that’s not really an answer, though?
