SHOWMASTER HEART GAME (FRIDAY)

A familiar voice can be heard above you, you're not sure if they're talking to you or not but it does feel like you're part of this conversation:

"What a Wonderful Story that you have. I've read it many times when I was feeling sad. You know, I wanted to keep it in my personal collection, but it doesn't seem that's going to be possible. To grant my wish, I'd have to sacrifice what it means to be a reader ... to become the story. That's The End that I'm looking for.

...

..."

What has brought us to the point that it no longer has any choice but to end?

At some point, you'll regain too much of your former self.

And then what happened to the previous performers will happen to us?

[ticketmaster]

Correct. Some return to their stories, some are stuck here, but there is a sense of "stuck" until this is all over.

So where must we go to change her mind?

[ticketmaster]

[She holds up a ticket labeled "GOAL".]

[holds out his hand for it]

No guarantee of success, but I’m willing to try.

I believe in fate. But how the journey is done can change the meaning of it.

If you’ve read my story, you know what I think of that.

One can "read" a story, but that doesn't mean anything to me. You could just tell me what you think instead.

“Please, tell me the answer: is fate unchangeable?”

“Even at his most powerless, Man’s existence is never without meaning.”

She is merciless, but she is still a set of scales, and ever we are the weights on the fulcrum.

Would you say those same exact words even now?

I would add that Fate is blind, and requires outsiders to bring perspective, I suppose.

[She doesn't say anything, but there's a smile on her face. One that seems to say a lot and nothing at all.]

I like that answer.
